Every September, members pay £5 for the year and then £2 for each weekly session.
It is £2.50 per session for non-members.
Please note, from September 2025 members will pay £5 for the year and then £3 for each weekly session. Visitors / guests will be £4 per session.
Since October 2013 a dedicated team of community volunteers have been tirelessly working, organising and training to open a safe environment for our local young people of Tean and the surrounding areas.
Run by community volunteers and Great Wood Hall, with a trained, experienced youth leader funded by Checkley Parish Council - Tean, Checkley & Hollington, the club will be open every Friday, 7-9pm during term time for young people from school years 6 to 11.
To provide a safe space for young people to socialize and be entertained on a Friday night.
To volunteer and provide help in the local community.
To engage in activities and events that the young people would like to do.
To build young people’s self-esteem and confidence.
To develop young people’s ability to manage personal and social relationships.
To create learning opportunities for young people to develop new skills.
To encourage positive group atmospheres.
To build the capacity of young people to consider risks, make reasoned decisions and take control.
To help young people develop a worldly view that widens horizons and invites commitment to community.
There is parking on site. We ask that parents and carers wait outside or in the foyer to collect their young person(s).
Please speak to a volunteer in a blue jumper if you wish to have a tour of the club.
Tean Youth Club provides a place for young people to go to on their Friday evenings.
